Cutting Back the Lemon Balm
The third and final harvest. Cut it to a hand's height and it'll come back in spring.
Third harvest of the lemon balm, and the last one of the year. I cut every stem down to about a hand's height. It looks brutal, but by next spring it will be back, and probably in three new places I didn't plant it.
This harvest is smaller and slightly less fragrant than June's — the plant is tired. It'll go into the everyday tea jar rather than the good one.
